Seraphine Bias-Cut Silk Gown

Seraphine is cut on the true bias from a heavyweight silk satin, so the gown follows the body rather than holding it. The cowl is narrow enough to read as an evening piece, and the low draped back is weighted so it stays where it is put. Cut and sewn in a Como atelier that has run silk since 1946.

How to Use

1. Let the bias settle for a minute on the body before you adjust the cowl
2. Wear a seamless bra or a silk camisole underneath — satin records every line
3. Pair with a 5 cm heel or higher so the train clears the floor

• Professional dry clean only, in a chlorine-free solvent
• Hang on a padded hanger and steam lightly from 20 cm away

• Do not machine wash, wring or tumble dry — a distorted bias cannot be reshaped
• Silk satin water-spots, so keep it clear of perfume and rain
• Do not press the bias seams flat or the drape is lost for good
